West Kern Water District is participating in the Kern County Multi-jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (MJHMP)—a countywide effort to reduce risks from natural hazards such as floods, earthquakes, extreme heat, and wildfires. This collaborative plan helps Kern County and its partner jurisdictions prepare for and minimize the impacts of disasters before they happen. Our Local Hazard Mitigation Plan
In addition to participating in the countywide plan, our agency is updating its individual Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP). The HMP identifies local vulnerabilities, sets goals for community safety, and outlines actions to protect the water supply, property, and assure health and safety to the communities we serve.
